Yet another article for those who are planning a baby or trying to conceive. This article is all about position, after all, where there is love there is happiness.

Baby making positions

It’s probably one of the most exciting times in your life. You’ve decided that now’s the time to have a baby and you and your partner smugly tell all who will listen, that you’re trying.

Your husband’s thrilled. He’s getting lucky more often and hey, admit it, you’re prepared to be creative – if it means doing the deed while balancing on your head, will result in a baby.

To start off with, let your hair down, prepare romantic evenings and just have fun.
Don’t allow baby making to become all consuming. The more stressed you are, the more difficult it will be to conceive.

But if there’s still no sign of a growing belly, after what feels like months and months of trying, you probably would want to make a little more of an effort, to coax those little swimmers to the egg.

Make sure that you’re making love around the time that you’re ovulating. This will increase your chances of falling pregnant. Most women ovulate around the 15th day of their cycle. (Start counting from the first day of your period). If you’re not sure, buy an ovulation home test kit, so that you know exactly which days to aim for.

Position can also make a difference to whether or not you fall pregnant and deep penetration is often important. Many believe that the missionary position (man on top) is the best as it allows the sperm to be deposited closely to your cervix. The other position to try is penetration from behind, either lying down or on all fours.

Don’t try any positions that involve standing, sitting or any other gravity defying moves. Remember, you’re trying to help your man’s little guys, swim quickly and effectively to your egg and not away from it.

When love making is over, some experts advise that you lie back and lift your hips, using a pillow. This will allow gravity to take its course, and allow those suckers to swim downstream. Some even swear the best trick involves lifting your legs in the air for a few minutes. You could even try moving your legs, in a bicycle motion. (Who said making love was entirely sexy)

So you’ve tried all the tricks, you’re husband’s smiling from ear to ear and probably even had a laugh at your bare butt in the air, legs peddling away madly. Remember though, conceiving a baby is all about making love and enjoying the ride.
